A Forecasting & Central Inventory Management Analyst helps provide the foundation of support to enable sales, ensure inventory availability, minimize low utility inventory, and support production requirements in a sustainable, efficient and well-organized method. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • Knowledge and exposure to goods and parts processes in the steel industry
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Power BI view and analyze, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, BObj)
  • SAP system experience (S4, APO, IBP)
  • Strong analytical, data analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple individuals in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment

  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Power Query, Power BI developing reports, macros, BObj report building)

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of proportional % values. Sales Order History drives the MRF forecast at product/sales customer level to the characteristic values driving the planning process – ensure data feeding into DP forecast is accurate
  • Manage the MTO trade forecast to ensure accurate MRP results
  • Compare forecast changes between order flags and industry on a weekly basis
  • Review Orders planning on the Hot Strip Mill in the next 4 weeks to determine if forecast changes need to occur
  • Work with Customer Service and Planning on allocations and open capacity to allow MTO sales orders to confirm as close as possible to customer requested date
  • Manage safety time exception table for parts outside of our default settings
  • Review planned orders weekly for MTF order conversion
  • Manage a transit time exception table and consult with logistics on a quarterly basis for updates
  • Work with customer service to manage breakpoints on parts with internal material, customer sold to, or OSP location changes
  • Uncover misalignments in the forecast load and work with customer service to adjust
  • Manage low running parts program – MTO Hybrid parts
  • Booking targets are submitted monthly during the MRF cycle and follow the part position through the MRF horizon based on the output of the latest MRP cycle.
  • Commercial Inventory Target Setting takes place monthly during the MRF cycle- calculating parts into inventory target days and translating the days to inventory target volumes based on the monthly MRF.
  • Weekly distribution of commercial inventory analysis, MTF part positions, aged inventory and additional reports upon request as they relate to commercial inventory, part positions, and the MRP model output
  • Manage, respond, and track all inquiries received for our mill
  • Commercial Technical Support / Process Improvement
