Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader gives daily direction to the associates in one of the departments within the store, to include: merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities. The Team Leader supports the Group Sales Manager (GSM) / Department Manager (DM) in achieving departmental sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals. They provide daily direction to associates, prepare task lists, and execute merchandising directives. The role involves ensuring a pleasant customer experience, assisting with staffing and training, coaching associates, and resolving customer and associate issues. The Team Leader is expected to maintain a high level of personal customer service and product knowledge, conduct product demonstrations, and assist with special events, pricing, assortments, inventory accuracy, and display maintenance. They also assist the GSM/DM in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, including interviewing, training, performance evaluation, and problem resolution. A key aspect of the role is providing a legendary customer experience by identifying customer needs, making recommendations, and promoting company programs. All other duties as assigned.
