About The Position

NIKE, Inc. is seeking multiple Footwear Product Developers to join its Brand Impact Sports Footwear Development Team, working across various performance sports. This team is dedicated to creating the future of footwear through deep connections with athletes and sports, collaborating with other functions to produce products that embody Nike's innovation and performance standards. The Footwear Product Developers will be key members of the Footwear Product Creation Team, responsible for developing exceptional performance products. Ideal candidates will possess proven project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills within footwear product creation, along with being self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, team players, and strong leaders. Previous experience with innovative, technical, performance products is advantageous. The role requires an aptitude for understanding consumer footwear needs and delivering impactful solutions for a diverse range of product challenges and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 additional years' meaningful work experience may be substituted with a combination of education and proven experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a product creation relevant role or two years of additional proven experience.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of product construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work streams with competing priorities to deliver on tight timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product teams through the creation process to ensure high-level executions and on-time delivery of product according to critical dates and performance goals.
  • Convert project briefs and 2D design renderings into 3D samples.
  • Ensure rigorous performance standards required by athletes are maintained.
  • Push the edge of expression via rich storytelling.
  • Develop and apply a fundamental understanding of multiple sports and standard methodologies to identify product and testing requirements.
  • Assure product performance through physical and field-testing (fit).
  • Recommend and specify material, component, and construction options to meet key features and product performance goals.
  • Engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are completed on time, meet design intent, and can be commercialized and manufactured.
  • Drive product and process excellence within a team environment for assigned projects.
  • Work on highly complex footwear projects, converting project briefs and design renderings into samples that meet consumer and business needs.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to enhance product and team excellence.
  • Ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability, and sustainability targets.
  • Ensure projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured.
  • Act as the key point of contact for overseas partners, ensuring clear and accurate communication during the product development process.
  • Navigate the Nike matrix to ensure processes model and match Nike Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence.
