About The Position

Bolt6 was founded in 2021 by Emmy Award-winning innovators with one goal: to change how the world experiences sport. Today, we deliver more than 2,500 events a year for elite sport around the globe. Our technology brings fans closer to the action, delivers decisions people believe in, and unlocks new revenue for leagues and federations. We're looking for an Operations Manager to lead the global delivery of our football VAR and semi-automated offside systems. You'll make sure our technology is deployed and run flawlessly, working closely with our internal teams, clients and partners to deliver the highest standards of service in live sport. This role involves regular international travel, with hybrid working in between events.

Requirements

• Proven operations management experience in sports technology or broadcasting, with a strong track record of delivering global projects.
• Strong leadership, with experience coordinating cross-functional teams and pushing yourself and others to deliver world-leading products and services in a highly competitive space.
• A self-starter who can pick up projects and run with them independently.
• Quick, sound decision-making, especially under pressure and against tight deadlines.
• Technically competent and intellectually curious, able to grasp new concepts and technology quickly and get to the bottom of complex problems.
• An entrepreneurial mindset: able to look at things differently and never satisfied with the status quo
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends around event schedules.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in live sports events or broadcasting environments.
• Technical knowledge of camera systems, tracking software, and broadcasting equipment.
• Familiarity with international logistics and experience managing projects in diverse cultural settings.
• Proficiency in additional languages.
• A degree in a STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) subject.

Responsibilities

• Taking full ownership of the successful delivery of every event in your area, on time, on budget and to the highest standard.
• Leading a global team of riggers, engineers and operators, and reshaping our operating models to make delivery more efficient.
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, managing expectations and keeping everyone clear on status, technical requirements and logistics.
• Building and executing detailed plans for equipment shipping, installation schedules and staffing at venues worldwide.
• Identifying the full-time and freelance staff we need, then finding and hiring them.
• Putting rigorous quality control in place and providing on-site support to resolve issues fast when it matters most.
• Making sure every operation meets local and international health and safety standards, including risk assessments and equipment checks.
• Using performance data and client feedback to keep raising the bar on how we deliver.
• Managing event budgets, tracking costs and reporting regularly, working with procurement and finance to use resources well.
• Making sure the technical team has the skills and knowledge to deliver at the highest level.
• Understanding our contractual obligations for each event, making sure we meet them in full, and making sure every event is invoiced correctly and on time.
• Being comfortable on site with the delivery team, building relationships across the industry and using your commercial and technical instincts to spot new opportunities for growth.
