The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for educating and inspiring student athletes to be the best version of themselves. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Head Football Coach and the Director of Athletics. The coach must utilize sound educational principles and goals to ensure athletics are a worthwhile part of the overall school program. The position involves coaching individual participants, maintaining records, providing guidance and counseling to team members, determining academic eligibility, and ensuring adherence to MIAA and EHS handbooks. Safety of the playing facility, attendance at practices and contests, supervision of locker rooms, and enforcement of discipline and sportsmanship are key aspects of the role. The coach is also expected to attend departmental meetings, stay informed of rule changes, support school staff, and establish communication with adults to enhance athletics. This role includes assisting with uniform and equipment distribution and collection, and performing other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic director.
