The Division of Disease Control’s mission is to safeguard the health of New Yorkers through identification, surveillance, treatment, control, and prevention of infectious diseases. The Bureau of Communicable Disease (BCD) is responsible for the surveillance, prevention, and control of over 70 infectious diseases. This Foodborne Disease Epidemiologist position will support foodborne disease surveillance and cluster and outbreak detection and response activities. The role involves managing Shiga toxin-producing E.coli and hemolytic uremic syndrome surveillance, collaborating with various divisions and partners, and responding to citywide emergencies.
