About The Position

Prepares and sets up cold foods for patient meals. The Food Service production worker assists in preparing cold foods for cafeteria and/or catering services. Uses approved culinary techniques with standardized recipes and products to prepare patient/café menus.

Requirements

• Current Food Handlers Card.

Nice To Haves

• High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent experience in a similar position preferred.
• General culinary training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers late trays for patients within 20 minutes of request; retrieves voice mail requests timely.
• Serves in starting position during tray line service for all meals; accountable for therapeutic accuracy of meals.
• Practices proper portion control in food preparation for items in the cafeteria and patient trays.
• Maintains adequate supply of stock menu items (i.e., juice, gelatin, custard) for patient trays.
