Provides meal program and educational support to Adventure Central as part of the youth development program. Coordinates kitchen and food service activities including the planning, preparation and clean-up of meals. Ensures excellent food safety practices. Prepares menus according to food program requirements and requests appropriate supplies for meals and other activities. Manages all food and non-food related inventory for the kitchen. Works within the budget to balance expenses and revenues. Responsible for ensuring safe practices within the kitchen. Incorporates youth in the meal process and uses meals as a teaching tool and learning opportunity for program participants, staff and volunteers. Recruits, supports and supervises volunteers in kitchen activities. Supervise and support teens as part of program workforce preparation efforts. Responsible for other special program meal activities and events, as directed. Serves on agency initiatives and projects working with various MetroParks’ department employees. Participates in agency wide programming as needed. Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required. Provides service to the public, responding to questions, offering assistance, supporting programs/ events and providing information. Work as part of a team delivering positive youth development programs to include supporting program activities as needed. Supports coordination of programming, activities and events with park staff. Collaborates internally, within and across departmental boundaries, to provide information and service to others in the organization to contribute to the effective operation of the agency and all staff. Attends and delivers professional development and training opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned.
