The food services coordinator manages the daily operational and financial responsibilities in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. May assist with quantity food preparation, follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food, and may assist with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met. May assist with stocking and replenishing of supplies and operation of kitchen equipment. Sets up and breaks down serving lines and/or catering events (salad bar, hot food etc.). Counts money, makes change, completes related reports and operates cash register, as needed. Manages inventory. Works with catering company for food and milk ordering (only at specific locations). Oversee portion sizes (only at specific locations). May clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, utensils and equipment. Attends to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies; detects and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions.
