About The Position

Provides support for food service operations, pantry distribution, mobile food pantry route oversight, facility maintenance, inventory control, and clerical functions within the Food and Nutrition Services Program. Assists in maintaining safe, sanitary, and efficient operations while supporting clients, staff, and community partners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a passenger van required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move supplies and equipment as required by the position.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with clients, staff, donors, and community members.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food service, maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting food distribution or mobile pantry operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation, meal service, and related food service activities as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitary conditions in food preparation, storage, and service areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Support food pantry operations by checking in clients, preparing and distributing food bags, and assisting with mobile food pantry activities.
  • Assist with oversight and coordination of mobile food pantry routes, including preparation, loading/unloading, site support, and ensuring timely delivery and distribution of food and supplies.
  • Work directly with the Emergency Food Coordinator and the 211 Canal Street Site Coordinator to support daily operations, food distribution activities, and program needs.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of food, maintenance, and program supplies; assist the Food and Nutrition Supervisor with ordering and restocking materials.
  • Review invoices and bills related to food purchases, supplies, and maintenance services for accuracy and processing.
  • Receive and document donations; issue receipts to donors, maintain donation logs, and submit weekly reports to the supervisor.
  • Deliver meals, supplies, and other program-related goods to designated sites using agency vehicles.
  • Assist with general maintenance and upkeep of program areas and equipment, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support program operations and agency needs.
