Food Services Aide With Evening Availability
About The Position
The Village at University Gates has an exciting opportunity for a Food Service Aide to join their team. This is an unscheduled part-time position requiring evening availability. The role involves assisting in serving meals and beverages, supporting meal preparation for events, and maintaining a clean dining room and workspace, all while upholding a caring and respectful attitude towards residents, families, and team members. The position emphasizes working accurately, quickly, and safely, adhering to dietary needs and food safety standards, and contributing to a resident-centered social culture.
Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50lbs (5-20 lb. usual), and push/pull wheeled equipment such as carts and trolleys that weigh a maximum of 100 lbs. (20-50 lb. usual).
- Possess exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team.
- Be able to stand or walk for the majority of your shift (8-hours maximum).
- Have a valid Smart Serve Certification.
- Hold a valid Food handlers certification.
Nice To Haves
- Completed, enrolled in or willing to enroll in the Food Services Worker training program
- Hold a valid Food Safety Awareness certification or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assist in serving meals and beverages to residents, ensuring dietary needs and food preferences are met.
- Follow safe and sanitary food handling techniques.
- Support with the preparation of catering functions and events.
- Maintain a clean dining room and workspace.
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
- Work in an accurate, quick, and safe manner.
- Stand or walk for the majority of the shift (8-hours maximum).
- Support and embrace the resident-centered social culture and deliver high-quality customer service.
