About The Position
Join Our Food & Nutrition Services Team At Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, our Food Service team plays an important role in creating a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff every day. We are currently hiring dependable and customer-focused individuals for Full Time, Part Time, and Per Diem Food Service positions across a variety of shifts.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Within 30 days of hire: Food Service Managers Certification (SJMH only)
- Within 30 days of hire: Food Service Handlers Certification (MHC, HH, HMC, Cancer Institute)
- Within 30 days of hire: Food Allergens Certification
- 6 months, preferred technical experience
- Intermittent hand manipulation
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds
- Required to stand for periods of up to 4 hours
Responsibilities
- Maintains clean work area following all safety and sanitation guidelines
- Enters and reports cash transactions.
- Adjusts meals to meet the needs of the patient while following doctor’s orders
- Keeps all work areas adequately stocked with food, condiments, beverages and service ware.
- Washes dishes and utensils following Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines in all actions.
- Delivers and retrieves trays using required patient identifiers in all interactions.
- Attractively and accurately assembles patient trays.
- Follows established portion control guidelines when serving food and beverages
- Responsible for service to retail operations.
- Prepares meals using approved food sanitation practices
- Sweeps and mops floors using approved methods.
