About The Position

The food service worker supports daily food production operations in a fast-paced commissary kitchen serving local school districts. The position is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling food items, packaging meals, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, energetic, and able to work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily production goals. This position follows the school calendar and starts in August. Monday- Friday 6am-2pm.

Requirements

• Previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria, or commissary experience preferred but not required
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required
• Serve Safe Certified or the ability to obtain certification upon hire
• Must pass federal background check

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and production schedules
• Wash, cut, portion, and package food products for distribution to schools
• Assist with meal assembly and packaging to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
• Label, date, and store food products following food safety guidelines
• Operate kitchen equipment including slicers, ovens, scales, and packaging equipment
• Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.
• Follow HAACP procedures and document food temperatures as required
• Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory using FIFO procedures
• Support cooks and production staff with food preparation and other duties as assigned
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines in a high-volume environment
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines
