Requirements

  • Food Safety & Quality knowledge
  • Ability to prepare, portion, arrange, and label food tray items according to menu instructions, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of proper food storage practices, including labeling, dating, and rotating stock using FIFO (First In, First Out).
  • Understanding of procedures for handling potentially hazardous foods and the Temperature Danger Zone (41°F–135°F).
  • Ability to assemble patient trays accurately based on menu orders.
  • Skill in operating and cleaning kitchen equipment such as plate warmers, steam tables, slicers, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Ability to use proper PPE and vendor-supplied equipment when handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to monitor inventory levels and notify the manager of low or out-of-stock items.
  • Ability to restock workstations according to par levels.
  • Ability to clean work areas, including dish machines, food delivery carts, and floors, following established procedures.
  • Ability to maintain clean and organized food prep areas with fresh sanitizer buckets.
  • Knowledge of waste management and recycling protocols.
  • Compliance with all OSHA regulations and local, state, and federal mandates.
  • Completion of all required annual training.
  • Ability to stay informed about updates to policies, menus, recipes, and portioning procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to report incomplete tasks or concerns to the manager.
  • Willingness to assist coworkers during low census periods.
  • Participation in quality control, assurance, and improvement initiatives.
  • Customer service skills, including greeting patients, visitors, and staff courteously.
  • Time management skills to complete assigned tasks within the shift.

  • Adheres to procedures for handling potentially hazardous foods, ensuring they are not left in the Temperature Danger Zone (41°F–135°F).
  • Assembles patient trays accurately based on menu orders.
  • Ensures all food items are presented neatly and meet dietary requirements.
  • Operates and cleans kitchen equipment such as plate warmers, steam tables, slicers, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Uses proper PPE and vendor-supplied equipment when handling cleaning chemicals to ensure safety and correct concentration.
  • Monitors inventory levels and promptly notifies the manager of low or out-of-stock items.
  • Restocks workstations according to par levels to maintain adequate supplies without overstocking.
  • Cleans work areas, including dish machines, food delivery carts, and floors, following established procedures.

Benefits

  • Per Diem Salary Range: $25.135/Hr - $26.462/Hr
