About The Position

This is a part-time position within the Food Service department. The role involves assisting full-time employees with various food preparation, serving, and sanitation duties. The position requires adherence to established standards for food safety, quality, and portion control. The employee will also be responsible for operating and cleaning various kitchen equipment and maintaining a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow simple recipes.
  • Knowledge of daily menus and recipe ingredients.
  • Ability to monitor food temperatures and make adjustments.
  • Ability to maintain accurate temperature logs when required.
  • Ability to clean floors, carpets, and stairs by sweeping, wet and dry mopping, or vacuuming.
  • Ability to perform periodic and special cleaning duties.
  • Successful completion of background check(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating and cleaning kitchen equipment such as mixers, choppers, cutters, meat/cheese slicers, can openers, under-counter dish machines, toasters, blenders, pasta cookers, rice cookers, fryers, coffee brewers, convection ovens.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items such as salad dressing, salads, vegetables, condiments, muffins, baked goods, sauces, sandwiches, wraps, fruit, yogurt and pudding parfaits, sushi, hard-boiled eggs, and other simple menu items as directed.
  • Follow simple recipes in cooking or preparing ingredients.
  • Set up and check dishes, utensils, signs, condiments, etc., for serving lines according to the menu.
  • Check products to ensure they meet established standards of appearance, quality, and portion size, and replace any products that do not meet standards.
  • Set up food displays and props/decorations for daily service and special events.
  • Work on serving counter and food stations as required.
  • Be knowledgeable about daily menus and recipe ingredients.
  • Ensure correct portion size is distributed.
  • Replenish and rotate stock to maintain quality and freshness.
  • Maintain food service records.
  • Monitor food volume prepared and leftovers at the end of the meal.
  • Operate and clean equipment such as mixers, choppers, cutters, meat/cheese slicers, can openers, under-counter dish machines, toasters, blenders, pasta cookers, rice cookers, fryers, coffee brewers, convection ovens, etc.
  • Clean refrigerators, tables, sinks, and pans.
  • Clean work areas and equipment, ensuring general cleanliness and sanitation by following established guidelines for proper food safety and sanitation.
  • Monitor food temperatures and make adjustments as necessary; maintain accurate temperature logs when required.
  • Clean floors, carpets, and stairs by sweeping, wet and dry mopping, or vacuuming as instructed.
  • Perform periodic and special cleaning duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
