The Food Services Worker assists in the preparation, distribution, and service of patient and employee meals. This role is responsible for preparing and portioning salads, desserts, beverages, and special patient snacks. The Food Services Worker also sets up and breaks down cafeteria food and supplies for each meal, serves as the steam table server during meal periods, and washes dishes and trays for future use. Additionally, the Food Services Worker assembles daily nourishment orders, transports them to patient areas, maintains and cleans food preparation equipment, and participates in special cleaning projects. This position requires knowledge of appropriate food handling techniques and general sanitation rules, and attendance at departmental in-service sessions is expected.
