Food Service Worker - Full Time - Varied Shifts - 8hr QVH
About The Position
The Food Services Worker assists in the preparation, distribution, and service of patient and employee meals. This role is responsible for preparing and portioning salads, desserts, beverages, and special patient snacks. The Food Services Worker also sets up and breaks down cafeteria food and supplies for each meal, serves as the steam table server during meal periods, and washes dishes and trays for future use. Additionally, the Food Services Worker assembles daily nourishment orders, transports them to patient areas, maintains and cleans food preparation equipment, and participates in special cleaning projects. This position requires knowledge of appropriate food handling techniques and general sanitation rules, and attendance at departmental in-service sessions is expected.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- On-the-job training.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Serve Safe Certification preferred.
- HACCP Preferred.
Responsibilities

- Maintains and cleans all food preparation equipment used throughout the day.
- Participates in special cleaning projects as assigned.
- Exhibits knowledge of appropriate food handling techniques and general rules of sanitation.
- Attends appropriate in-service sessions as presented in the department.
