About The Position

The Food Service Worker position is a part-time role within a correctional facility, offering a competitive wage of $15.00/hour plus a $500 new hire bonus. This role involves overseeing inmate labor and team members in the food service operation, preparing and serving food items according to menus and work instructions, and utilizing various food preparation utensils and machines. The position reports to a Food Service Director and requires working onsite within a jail/correctional facility. Ideal candidates are passionate about food and service, understand food handling regulations, are eager to learn, work well in a team, and are adaptable and flexible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 21 years of age

Nice To Haves

• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
• Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
