About The Position

This is a part-time position in Food Service. The Food Service Worker will assist Full-Time employees with various food preparation and service duties. Responsibilities include preparing food items, setting up serving lines, maintaining quality and freshness of products, operating and cleaning equipment, and ensuring sanitation and food safety standards are met. The role also involves cleaning work areas, floors, and performing other assigned duties.

  • Ability to monitor food temperatures and maintain logs.
  • Ability to perform cleaning duties for floors, carpets, and stairs.
  • Successful completion of background check(s).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items such as salad dressing, salads, vegetables, condiments, muffins, baked goods, sauces, sandwiches, wraps, fruit, yogurt and pudding parfaits, sushi, hard-boiled eggs, and other simple menu items according to simple recipes.
  • Set up and check dishes, utensils, signs, condiments, etc., for serving lines according to the menu.
  • Check products to ensure they meet established standards of appearance, quality, and portion size, and replace any products that do not meet standards.
  • Set up food displays and props/decorations for daily service and special events.
  • Work on serving counter and food stations, be knowledgeable about daily menus and recipe ingredients, and ensure correct portion size is distributed.
  • Replenish and rotate stock to maintain quality and freshness.
  • Maintain food service records, monitor food volume prepared and leftovers at the end of the meal.
  • Operate and clean equipment such as mixers, choppers, cutters, meat/cheese slicers, can openers, under-counter dish machines, toasters, blenders, pasta cookers, rice cookers, fryers, coffee brewers, convection ovens, etc.
  • Clean refrigerators, tables, sinks, and pans.
  • Clean work area and equipment, ensuring general cleanliness and sanitation by following established guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
  • Monitor food temperatures and make adjustments as necessary; maintain accurate temperature logs when required.
  • Clean floors, carpets, and stairs by sweeping, wet and dry mopping, or vacuuming as instructed.
  • Perform periodic and special cleaning duties as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
