About The Position

Doctors Hospital of Laredo, in Laredo, TX, is a 183-bed acute care facility that offers a range of medical services. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Chef, and Supervisor, this position is responsible for the warewashing and sanitation of kitchen facility. Operates dish machine and assures work area and equipment is clean. Prompt distribution of patient meal carts and responsible for tray passing and return of soiled trays. Breaks down evening catering meals and cleans meeting room. Sweeps, mops and takes out mats for cleaning, as well as removes all trash. Closes kitchen and secures doors after leaving department.

Requirements

Food Handlers Certification.
Must be able to read and write in English and follow both verbal and written instructions.
No previous experience required.

Nice To Haves

High School graduate or GED Preferred.

Responsibilities

Washes, rinses and sanitizes pots and pan, utensils using the 3-compartment method
Maintains sanitation of facility ; sweeps and mops, washes and deodorizes all trash cans, floor mats.
Delivers and returns food transport carts to each nursing units. Checks late tray cart and returns all trays.
Stocks dishware, utensils, special function equipment, food and supplies in their appropriate areas.
Uses dish machine to clean patient service ware and trays, Clean and sanitizes carts after each meal period.
