This position performs all manner of commercial kitchen operations. The Food Service Worker operates a variety of kitchen utensils to prepare food, assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food. They inspect workstations for compliance with service standards, and clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following all Sodexo, client and regulatory rules and procedures. This role involves setting up stations with food and utensils, providing general stocking duties, and serving and replenishing food. The worker may also brew coffee and tea, restock beverage areas, and work on a tray line. Customer interaction is key, assisting customers with opening containers and cutting food when requested. Dishwashing, cleaning worktables, walls, refrigerators, and floors are also part of the duties. The role requires removing trash, transferring supplies, and attending all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training. Compliance with company safety and risk management policies, reporting accidents, participating in safety meetings, and adhering to HACCP policies are essential. The position also requires adherence to Operations Security (OPSEC), Property Control Plan, and safety and health program requirements, including maintaining an Accident Prevention Plan (APP). Other tasks as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor may be assigned.
