Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service establishment preferred.
  • California Food Handler.
  • Understands the philosophy of quality customer service and customer satisfaction.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D., preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Washing all dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and maintaining the kitchen area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Assisting in putting away deliveries as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assisting cooks in preparation, and possibly aiding in the actual cooking of meals when needed.
  • Assisting in the dining room with serving if a need arises.
  • Assists in the set up and break down of all meals.
  • Washes all dishes as per Eskaton policy.
  • Assists the Food Services Director in various administrative capacities as requested.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the department posted cleaning schedules.
  • Reports any damage or problems with equipment to the Director of Culinary Experience and Maintenance.
  • Assists in the preparation and serving of meals as directed by supervisor preferences, likes/dislikes, allergies and diet orders.
  • Keeps Director of Culinary Experience informed of questions, reactions, comments or problems that may arise.
  • Assists cook with food preparation and cooking, following recipes and instruction from cook.
  • Helps serve from steam table line to dining room.
  • Familiar with food service disaster plan.

  • Fully complies with all provisions in Eskaton’s Corporate Compliance Policy and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Maintains attendance as outlined in Eskaton policy.
  • Follows required dress code and Eskaton’s Community Appearance Standards. Maintains a professional image to the public and residents.
  • Works in accordance with established safety guidelines; uses proper body mechanics; follows safe work practices; wears appropriate safety gear.
