About The Position

Telecare Corporation is seeking a Food Service Worker for their Gladman MHRC facility. Gladman is a 40-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center providing sub-acute psychiatric treatment to adults 18 and older. The Food Service Worker will assist in the preparation, assembly, and servicing of food, and ensure that the facility’s dietary and dining room areas are clean and meet sanitary regulations at all times. This is an on-call position with varying shifts and hours.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and speak English in order to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A desire to work with mentally impaired adults are crucial.
  • Applicant must be finger printed and receive clearance from Criminal Justice Department.
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks on a continuous basis and to maintain the specified flow of work is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience working in the field of food service is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation, assembly, and servicing of food within the facility.
  • Ensuring that the facility’s dietary and dining room areas are clean and meet sanitary regulations at all times.
  • Loading and tending the dish washing machine.
  • Hand washing non-machine equipment.
  • Assembling prepared food.
  • Delivering and storing clean dishes, pots, and utensils in the appropriate area.
  • Assisting in the preparation of salads and desserts.
  • Delivering food to client service areas.
  • Assisting in serving meals to clients in the cafeteria.
  • Obtaining necessary supplies from food storage, the refrigerator, and the freezer.
  • Stocking food supplies and food preparation equipment in storage areas.
  • Performing assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Demonstrating the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with clients, the public, and other staff members.
  • Performing tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures.
  • Participating as a team member and providing input via reporting observations, concerns, and asking appropriate questions.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of Professional Assault Response Training (PART) principles and using PART concepts to manage aggressive behavior.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrating a good rapport and cooperative working relationships with all members of the team; responding to co-workers with concern and promoting group morale.
  • Continually focusing on assigned tasks and seeking and implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Understanding and demonstrating the safety program in all activities.
  • Practicing universal precautions at all times.
  • Demonstrating a knowledge of Telecare's customers including clients/clients, families, and governmental agencies in all interactions and conduct.
  • Acting in a professional manner, always demonstrating respect and understanding of the community and neighborhood when representing Telecare in the community.
  • Completing and following through with tasks and assignments, meeting expected deadlines.
  • Understanding and demonstrating knowledge of all policies associated with attendance.
  • Attending all assigned in-service education classes.

Benefits
