About The Position

This role involves preparing a variety of foods according to a planned menu and standardized recipes. The worker will be responsible for the safe and efficient use of all kitchen equipment, plating and serving food items while adhering to portion guidelines, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Additional duties include assisting in other kitchen areas such as dishwashing, cleaning, sweeping, and organizing pots, pans, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to follow and interpret oral and written instructions such as recipes and food prep directions.
  • Ability to understand and apply measurements used in cooking (cups, spoons, jugs, thermometers, etc..)
  • Ability to follow food prep directions for children with special dietary accommodations.
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and/or school administration.
  • Demonstrated (verified) punctuality and good attendance from prior employment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to problem solve and exercise good judgement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the food service industry (though the school is willing to train those without experience who are otherwise qualified).

Responsibilities
