About The Position

The Alan B. Miller Medical Center, opening in Spring 2026, is a new state-of-the-art hospital that will join UHS's growing regional network. This facility will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building, and a helistop. The Food Service Worker, Full Time, Healthcare position is responsible for the preparation, delivery, and retrieval of patient trays, as well as the accurate setup and delivery of patient meals to ensure quality service for optimal patient health. This role may also involve working in retail areas as a Food Server/Cashier, performing dishwashing duties (both automatic and manual cleaning of pots, dishes, and utensils), floor cleaning (sweeping and mopping), and trash/cardboard removal. Additional tasks may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Knowledge of proper food preparation, handling and storage required.
Considerable working knowledge of food preparation and Serv Safe practices.
Highly proficient in the use of all kitchen equipment.
Servsafe and/or food handler safety card required within 30 days of hire.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
Ability to work and cooperate with members of hospital staff.
