Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in food service or cafeteria work, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
  • Certification in food handler safety or ServSafe certification.
  • Familiarity with special dietary needs such as allergies or religious dietary restrictions.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment and technology used in food service operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to established menus and portion sizes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, slicers, and dishwashers.
  • Provide courteous and helpful service to students and staff, addressing any dietary restrictions or special requests.
  • Follow all food safety protocols, including proper handwashing, food handling, and temperature control.
  • Support inventory management by reporting supply needs and assisting with stock organization.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth meal service during busy periods.
