Food Service Worker - Part-Time

This position requires availability to work some weekends and holidays, with 25-28 hours weekly spread across 4 scheduled days, from 11 am to 6 pm. The Food Service Worker oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food. You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
Nice To Haves
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience
Responsibilities
- Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
- Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
- Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes.
- Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
- Train other food service workers.
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
