Requirements
- Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment
- One year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage or equivalent education/experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages compliant with medically prescribed diet orders, including fluid, texture, electrolyte and nutrient restrictions in a medically vulnerable population or with special attention to food allergens and cross-contamination.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages for medically vulnerable populations, or with special attention to food allergens and cross-contamination, and perform clean-up and sanitization activities for food equipment.
- Retrieval and processing of food and food preparation/serving equipment with adherence to healthcare-level infection and cross-contamination prevention protocols.
- Transports food, supplies, and equipment to and from kitchen, dining areas, storerooms, and refrigerators.
- Serves food individually or from steam tables and carts; loads and clears steam tables and carts.
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment and other surfaces.
- Stocks work areas, including nursing unit pantries, practices First In First Out (FIFO) methods to minimize waste.
- Operates standard kitchen appliances and equipment (e.g. coffee maker, toaster, dish and glass washers, mixers, dish machine).
- Follows department policies and procedures for food safety and sanitation.
- Complies with infection control policy and hand washing procedures.
- Performs other work as required.
