About The Position

As a Food Service Worker at Acelero Learning, you will play an essential role in supporting the health, well-being, and daily nourishment of children ages 0–5 within our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to school readiness by ensuring children receive nutritious, USDA-approved meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. You will work collaboratively with program staff to maintain high standards of food safety, organization, and service—helping create a strong foundation for learning and growth.

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of assigned menus, ensuring meals are attractive, nutritious, and USDA-approved.
  • Support the delivery of meals to classrooms and the collection of dirty dishes following meal service.
  • Clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using approved sanitary washing procedures.
  • Receive and inspect food deliveries for accuracy, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Properly store food and supplies, including dating all items and following FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
  • Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures during preparation, storage, and service.
  • Ensure refrigerators and freezers are maintained at appropriate temperatures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen materials, equipment, and workspaces in accordance with Health Department regulations.
