About The Position

The Food Service Worker Lead – Food and Nutrition Services (Full-Time / Days) position at Texas Health Rockwall is a 40-hour weekly role focused on leading staff in daily activities within a fast-paced, high-volume department. The team is diverse and inclusive, with a strong emphasis on exceptional patient care, teamwork, and flexibility in scheduling to ensure essential shifts are covered. The role involves working with staff, assigning and checking work, maintaining workflow, and stepping in for the Supervisor or Manager in their absence. Responsibilities also include assisting with staff training, ensuring food safety compliance with HACCP and health department standards, maintaining cleanliness, and suggesting improvements for cost control, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The position also involves performing other duties as assigned, providing feedback, and assisting with special events.

Requirements

2 years relevant experience in food service Required
FHC - Food Handlers Certificate 30 Days Req
Written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to operate computer software applications.
Customer service skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment is required.
Demonstrates thorough critical thinking and is a team player.
Ability to count and handle cash.

Responsibilities

Leads staff in daily activities and works with them as needed, assigns and checks work and maintains workflow.
In the absence of the Supervisor or Manager leads team in designated areas.
Assists with training of staff including the coordination of required in-services.
Maintains food safety requirements according to HACCP and health department standards in the performance of all duties.
Records refrigerator temperatures in areas of responsibility and takes appropriate action if there are inadequate temperatures.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area, ensuring compliance with health department and facility requirements.
Suggests and assists with implementation of improvement opportunities to assist with cost control, maintain/improve efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.
Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
Provides feedback and assists with special events planning and set-up/clean-up.
