About The Position

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Food Service Worker II. This individual will rotate through various assignments and perform a variety of jobs according to the standards of the Food Service Department. Those in the Clerk’s area, provides clerical assistance to the Clinical staff by performing clerical tasks required for the operation of the department and the efficient, accurate service of patient's meals. Assists in providing for the nutritional care of each patient.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Some office and/or food and nutrition classes (for clerks).
  • Computer Skills required.
  • Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to do arithmetic calculations and computations.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects for transport.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years work experience in a food service establishment desirable.
  • Previous diet office experience desired (for clerks).
  • Good interpersonal skills desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of ingredients of foods prepared for patients (for clerks).

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through various assignments and perform a variety of jobs according to the standards of the Food Service Department.
  • Provide clerical assistance to Clinical staff by performing clerical tasks required for the operation of the department and the efficient, accurate service of patient's meals.
  • Assist in providing for the nutritional care of each patient.
  • Describe menu items to patients if necessary.
  • Identify the correct foods for each major diet.
