About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Food Service Worker II for our Nutrition Services department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Food Service Worker II, you will prepare food items for the cafeteria for general and therapeutic diets, work collaboratively with peers, visitors, patients, management team, and other hospital staff, and perform job duties 100% every day, every shift for optimal productivity. You will also perform sanitation duties in the dish room, assemble prepared foods on trays with accuracy, and ensure food products are produced in a timely manner under appropriate food safety guidelines. As needed, you will prepare food on time by following standardized recipes 100% of the time at the correct temperature and accurately document time and temperature. You will maintain sanitation for area utilization and be responsible for HAACP and food safety. Communication with your direct supervisor is key to ensure superior outcomes are met on a daily basis. You will attend in-service training to obtain knowledge of menus/food and physical safety, departmental meetings, department training, and complete mandatory Learning & Performance Suite training. You will respect cultural, ethnic, and religious food preferences, and be a good steward of AHC’s resources by not wasting time or materials. You will also respect customers, peers, and supervisory staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Able to handle a multitask environment
  • Must be able to read and speak in English

Nice To Haves

  • Food Handlers Certification helpful
  • 1-2 years of hospital food service experience helpful

Responsibilities
