About The Position
The Food Service Worker: Dishwasher/Server position is responsible for performing various functions within the Food Service Department. This includes operating and maintaining the dish machine, cleaning and organizing work areas, washing pans and dishes, and maintaining dish machine logs. The role also involves assisting with serving during lunch lines, supporting other kitchen positions, and helping with special promotions. Adherence to safety regulations and completion of food service trainings are also key aspects of this role.
Requirements
- Be able to stand for long periods of time
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Tolerate varying temperatures in coolers, freezers and dish room
- Must be able to multi-task
- Knowledge of current food safety regulations as well as current meal component requirements in order to accurately recognize reimbursable meals

- Previous experience in school food service
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a dish machine
- Maintain, clean, and organize work areas in the dishroom
- Wash pans and dishes that come from servers
- Maintain dish machine temperature logs
- Clean and close the dish machine, sink area and empty trash bin at the end of each day
- Maintain and order required dishwasher and cleaning supplies
- Assist in serving during lunch lines as needed
- Assist other positions in the kitchen as needed
- Assist with special promotions for staff and students
- Follow all safety regulations
- Complete all food service trainings
- Other duties as assigned
