About The Position

This position is for a Food Service Worker, specifically a Dish Washer, at MWR Kodiak GA Restaurant in Kodiak, AK. Requirements

  • No previous work experience required but must have the ability to read and understand written material and follow instructions.
  • Must be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
  • Must be able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Six months experience in a food service facility.

Responsibilities

  • In the serving area: Sets up glasses, silverware, butter, condiments, salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on serving counter as instructed.
  • Cleans tables of paper, other trash, or soiled linens, and wipes tables with towel to remove crumbs or other food particles.
  • Removes soiled dishes from tables and transports them to the dishwashing area.
  • In the food preparation area: Cuts, scrapes, chops, dices, and peels fruits and vegetables.
  • May operate electric can opener, electric potato peeler, etc.
  • In dishwashing area: Separates food waste and trash.
  • Scrapes and pre-rinses dishes with water to remove food particles before washing.
  • Loads dishes in dishwasher; stacks and stores dishes.
  • May hand wash dishes, following prescribed steps.
  • Stacks and stores clean dishes.
  • Cleans cooking and service equipment.
  • Scrapes, cleans, scrubs, washes, or wipes equipment; such as ranges, ovens, electric or gas fryers, pressure cookers, steam kettles, and broilers.
  • Drains and cleans coffee and tea urns.
  • Scrubs and scours worktables.
  • Cleans grease traps in sinks.
  • Removes garbage to collection points.
  • Clean woodwork, windows, and displays counters.
  • Sweeps, mops, waxes floors.
  • Polishes dining area furniture.
  • Carries supplies between storeroom, kitchen and dining area and run errands.
  • Receives specific instructions for new tasks from supervisor, after which incumbent independently complete duties in the same way each time.
  • Adheres to safety regulations and standards.
  • Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures.
  • Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
