About The Position

Performs a variety of duties related to the preparation and serving of food; cleans kitchen area and cooking utensils.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in dietary/food service preferred
• San Bernardino County Food Handler’s Certification (may be obtained 14 days after hire)

Responsibilities

• Serves patient meals on tray line, in accordance with established schedule and procedures.
• Cleans the kitchen area and cooking utensils.
• Carries dishes and foods between kitchen and serving lines.
• Operates dishwasher to ensure all dishes and utensils are clean.
• Prepares coffee and urns for food service.
• Prepares, loads, transports, and cleans food carts.
• Collects, processes, and disposes of trash, cans, bottles, and similar debris and transports to disposal area.
• Trains utility personnel per utility job description.
• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
• Participates in hospital educational programs and in-service meetings as requested.
