About The Position

The Food Service Worker performs various jobs for patient food preparation. This role involves duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales, and catering. Responsibilities include assembling patient trays, preparing food items such as chopping, slicing, and peeling, and transporting food carts and trays to patient units. The role also entails cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, and equipment, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the department by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of trash. Additionally, the Food Service Worker stocks and cleans nourishment rooms/refrigerators, adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, utilizes resources efficiently, maintains a safe work environment, addresses patient population-specific needs, and participates in Performance Improvement activities.

Requirements

• Able to read, write and understand the English language.

• 1 year in patient-feeding food service establishment

Responsibilities

• Performs duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales and catering.
• Assembles patients’ trays.
• Chops, slices, and peels food.
• Transports carts to and from the different units.
• Delivers trays and snacks to the patient.
• Transport of food to other areas as needed.
• Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes.
• Operates, cleans, and sanitizes necessary equipment.
• Sweeps and mops all areas of the department.
• Collects and disposes of trash.
• Stocks and cleans nourishment rooms/refrigerators as assigned.
• Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations.
