About The Position

We are hiring a dependable and energetic Food Service Worker / Cashier to join our high school cafeteria team. In this role, you will play a vital part in fueling our students' days by serving nutritious meals, maintaining a spotless kitchen, and providing friendly customer service at the register.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30 lbs for the duration of the shift.
• Strong basic math skills for cash handling.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, student-focused demeanor.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a cashier or in food service is a plus, but not required (we provide on-the-job training).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (students over 16 looking for part-time work are welcome to apply!).

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food prep and serve student meals quickly and accurately during lunch rushes.
• Work the cash register, accurately ring up meals, process payments, and scan student meal cards.
• Set up serving lines before meal periods and properly break them down afterward.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, serving areas, counters, and dishes according to health and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive, helpful attitude with students, staff, and fellow team members.
