Western State Hospital, part of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), is seeking a full-time Food Service Technician II Cook. This role involves accurately following recipes to produce consistent, appetizing, and visually appealing food products for patient meal service. The Cook will work in accordance with Virginia Department of Health regulations, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and practice proper food handling techniques. Key responsibilities include maintaining safe food temperatures, documenting temperatures on HACCP log sheets, washing and sanitizing equipment, and assisting with tray assembly and delivery as needed.
