About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Technician to join our team at Schoolcraft Elementary on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing nutritious and appealing meals to our students while ensuring a safe and clean food service environment. This position requires a passion for working with children and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits.

Requirements

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children.
• Ability to lift and carry food supplies and equipment as needed.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate part-time hours, including mornings and early afternoons.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policy.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in food service or kitchen environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with established menus and nutrition guidelines.
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a safe, sanitary, and appealing manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
• Monitor food temperatures and storage conditions to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Help with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and labeling food supplies.
• Assist in planning and implementing special meal events or programs.
• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and parents.
• Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a healthy environment.
