About The Position

The Food & Beverage team at Target ensures a consistent guest experience by maintaining fresh, in-stock, available, and accurately priced products on the sales floor. They are experts in operations, process, and efficiency, leading all aspects of food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing. This role offers meaningful experiences for leaders to build skills for a career, focusing on guest service fundamentals, Food & Beverage business operations, and leading a team. A typical day involves delivering guest experience commitments, training and holding team members accountable, reviewing metrics to identify opportunities, planning and executing daily/weekly workload to meet sales goals, assigning tasks, assessing back-of-house operations, ensuring food safety and proper inventory levels, and upholding brand standards for Starbucks and Pizza Hut where applicable. The role also involves placing store-initiated orders, managing perishable inventory, making production quantity decisions, participating in hiring and onboarding, and demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and inclusivity. Key carriers may assume store-level leadership responsibilities, and support for guest services like cashiering, OPU, and Drive-up is expected.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
Previous retail experience preferred, but not required
Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business
Lead and hold others accountable
Communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
Work independently and as part of a team
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
Effective communication skills
Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
Interpret instructions, reports and information.
Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
Climb up and down ladders if needed.
Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.
Ability to work in environments that will include refrigeration and freezer temperatures and conditions; where common allergens may also be handled or present.
Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties, including but not limited to Drive-Ups, carryout, etc.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shifts (shift length may vary)

Responsibilities

Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience.
Ensures every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
Actively observes and provides feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
Reviews area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, takes action to improve, and aligns team on the right behaviors and execution, celebrates wins, drives results that deliver outcomes and elevates the guest experience.
Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including planning food service transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, promotions and price change workload.
Assign daily tasks to TMs based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, ensuring alignment with weekly and monthly business priorities set by your direct leader.
Assess Food Service back of house, production areas, dining spaces and merchandising spaces to ensure food safety and proper inventory levels with guidance from your direct leader.
Walk Food & Beverage Standards and Food Service routines daily to assess priorities and review reporting to identify business gaps for follow-up.
Follow all food safety requirements and cleaning routines, including monitoring and recording temperature sensitive food items, as outlined in Target’s policies and procedures.
Validate and follow-up on team members’ progress against department checklists and routines.
Lead team to uphold and maintain all Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards and production specifications (where applicable).
Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices.
Follow proper perishable inventory management procedures to ensure an accurate recording of inventory.
Make production quantity decisions just in time to ensure freshness, in-stocks, sales and profitability are achieved consistently.
Remain up-to-date on relevant trends and products to educate team members.
Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes.
At direction of your direct leader, establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to expectations.
In addition to Food Safety Manager Certification, complete all Starbucks and/or Pizza Hut training requirements and certifications.
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; lead your team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment.
Lead and demonstrate a safety culture through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding team accountable to following safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting/investigating injuries timely and accurately.

Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store, including ordering, storage and application as directed by best practices.
If applicable, as a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities to enable the guest experience for the store during assigned shifts based on store needs.
Address all store emergency and compliance needs.
Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
