Food Service Supervisor Part Time

About The Position

This is a part-time Food Service Supervisor role where you will assist Shift Managers in supervising multiple food service units. Your responsibilities will include overseeing menu item production, managing cash readings, leading associates, scheduling staff, and participating in hiring and training. You will also learn to resolve labor relations issues, track inventories, and generate reports on sales revenue, labor, and food costs. A key aspect of this role is ensuring strict compliance with quality assurance, health and safety programs, and relevant regulations like the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS. You will coordinate workplace inspections, conduct WHMIS training, and report accidents. Adherence to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards in food preparation is also essential. You will communicate positively with patrons and address their concerns promptly.

Requirements

  • At least one year of strong operation food industry management experience.
  • FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
  • Comprehensive health and safety knowledge and training.
  • Knowledge of food service catering.
  • Strong supervisory skills and the capability to motivate and lead staff.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Employee relations experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Shift Managers to supervise multiple food service units.

  • Ensure strict compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
  • Coordinate frequent workplace inspections and WHMIS training of all staff.
  • Promptly report any workplace accident or incident to head office.
  • Ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in the food preparation process.
