About The Position

The Dining Services Department at Elizabethtown College is currently seeking a Fresh Nest Food Service Supervisor. The primary purpose of this full-time, 9 months per year, second shift position is to independently oversee the daily operation of the Fresh Nest Café, located in the Bowers Center for Sports, Fitness & Well-Being, including preparing high-quality beverages and healthy food offerings while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required
  • Three years of relevant experience in customer service, food service, or retail environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as required
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Cafe experience preferred, with knowledge of smoothie and food service preparation techniques.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for security of operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Prepare high-quality smoothies and healthy food offerings while following standardized recipes
  • Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, including transactions, meal exchange, menu updates, and display management
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot smoothie and cafe equipment as needed
  • Train and oversee student employees in beverage preparation, customer service, and café operations
  • Ensure production, presentation, and service standards are consistently met
  • Partner with Retail Manager on ordering, inventory management, and sales reporting
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, seating areas, and workspace
  • Provide excellent customer service and positively engage with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks assigned
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Operate with a high level of independence, initiative, and accountability in managing the day-to-day café operations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist with special events and functions as needed
  • Provide support in other Dining Services locations as needed
  • Conduct all responsibilities in a safe manner with applicable regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, food safety, etc.)
