About The Position

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operations of retail food service outlets, ensuring excellent customer service, food quality, food safety, and operational efficiency. The supervisor leads front-line team members, monitors performance, and ensures company standards, policies, and procedures are consistently followed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of Manager experience in food service, quick-service restaurant, or retail operations.
  • Strong customer service and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Cash handling and POS system experience.
  • Basic Food Safety Certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • Allergen Awareness Certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of retail food outlets, including Tim Hortons, Subway, Quesada, Starbucks and other branded concepts.
  • Ensure all food products are prepared, displayed, and served according to brand standards.
  • Monitor service levels to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Assist with opening, closing, cash handling, and daily operational procedures.
  • Respond promptly to customer concerns and resolve issues professionally.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to team members during shifts.
  • Assign duties and ensure staff complete tasks efficiently.
  • Train new employees on company policies, food safety, customer service, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct shift briefings and communicate operational updates.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, allergen, and health regulations.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Complete temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and food safety documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with stock management.
  • Monitor waste levels and support food cost control initiatives.
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, rotation (FIFO), and handling of products.
  • Report inventory shortages and equipment concerns to management.
  • Complete daily reports, cash reconciliations, and operational checklists.
  • Support scheduling and attendance tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and collective agreement requirements where applicable.
  • Assist management with audits, inspections, and operational reviews.
