About The Position
This is a temporary position for a Food Service Substitute. The role involves preparing food, participating in food handling from preparation to serving, collecting money and/or meal tickets, cleaning equipment, utensils, and designated areas, and receiving and storing food supplies. Regular on-time attendance is required. The position is for 10 months and is non-exempt, paying $15.75 per hour.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic skills in reading, record keeping, and arithmetic required.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of duties and responsibilities listed below.
- Ability to work rapidly and efficiently in a wide range of temperature conditions.
- Ability to follow written recipes and oral instruction.
- Knowledge of principles of sanitation and kitchen safety.
- Ability to work effectively with school personnel and students.
- Knowledge of and ability to work with a variety of chemicals and other agents.
- Ability to do heavy work (lift and carry approximately 50 pounds) on hard flooring for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work while standing for extended period.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Nice To Haves
- Cook, food handling and/or cashier experience preferred.
