Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator/Director, the Food Service Worker is responsible for the planning, ordering, and preparation of all meals and snacks at the residential treatment program. This role involves preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of food items, adjusting cooking equipment, measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes, and baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming foods. The position also includes observing and testing food during cooking, carving meat, portioning food, and planning meals to estimate food requirements and ordering supplies. Additionally, the Food Service Worker is responsible for keeping records, following agency accounting procedures, supervising and training staff and clients in food preparation and kitchen operations, and maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. Secondary functions include performing any other duties as assigned.
