About The Position

The Food Service Specialist – Floater supports multiple elementary, middle, and high school sites within the [region/district] area, stepping in wherever coverage is needed — whether that's food preparation, serving, or helping run daily operations at a site. This role requires reliable transportation and the flexibility to travel between school locations as assigned. The Specialist performs a variety of responsibilities including preparing and serving food in accordance with recipe standards and USDA National School Lunch compliance, and may take on expanded duties at a site when covering for kitchen or leadership staff. This position will engage with students, teachers, and parents with superior customer service, embodying the Genuine way. Requirements

Must be flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented — comfortable stepping into new environments with limited notice.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; must be willing to travel between school sites within the region.
Previous food or customer service experience/training in a mid-high volume food service facility or restaurant.
Willingness to learn the compliance requirements of the USDA National School Lunch Program.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and level-headedness.
Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
Able to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
Interest in and commitment to Genuine Foods' mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies, and happiness.
Must be able to work in a school environment among kids grades K-12.

Responsibilities

Travel between assigned school sites as scheduled, providing reliable coverage across locations.
Ensure all food being served is up to Genuine Foods' quality while following food safety standards.
Prepare and serve food to students and staff with a positive, upbeat attitude.
Step into cooking, prep, or site coverage duties as needed when covering for absent team members.
Coordinate with site teams to ensure all food is ready and served on time, even when working at an unfamiliar location.
Keep all areas clean and sanitized.
Stock and organize all areas of the kitchen/serving area to keep ease of service.
Quickly learn the layout, team, and workflow of each site to minimize disruption when covering.
Alert the Site Lead or Manager on duty of any issues promptly.
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
