About The Position

Columbia Academy Elementary and Middle School is seeking a Food Service Assistant Manager/Sous Chef to manage all aspects of the school kitchen, ensuring safety and cleanliness. This role involves preparing healthy meals and snacks for students, creating and updating the school's HACCP plan, estimating food quantities, and maintaining records. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of school cafeteria operations, basic math and measurement skills, experience with standard cafeteria equipment, and proficiency in menu planning and food delivery to school locations. A passion for working with children is essential, and experience in fields like customer service, healthcare, or retail is also valued.

Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent
  • 2 + years of experience cooking
  • ServSafe Certification
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Kitchen Manager License

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor's degree in food service, culinary arts, or related field
  • Experience working in a large institution
