About The Position

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Food Service Prep Cook to join their Nutrition & Food Service team. This role involves preparing fresh, nutritious meals for patients, visitors, and staff. The position contributes to patient meal service, retail dining, catering events, and other food service operations within a fast-paced healthcare environment, working alongside experienced culinary professionals.

Requirements

High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma.
Equivalent of one (1) year of prior full-time experience in food service operations.
Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

Nice To Haves

Previous food preparation, cooking, or food service experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and perform food preparation and basic cooking duties.
Support patient meal service, retail operations, catering, and special events.
Follow standardized recipes, production sheets, and portion standards to ensure quality and consistency.
Assist with therapeutic diet requirements and food allergy accommodations.
Adhere to HACCP food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen and work area.
Work collaboratively with Food Service leadership and the culinary team to deliver exceptional service.
