About The Position
The Food Service Manager is responsible for overall cafeteria operations from opening through closing. The role maintains established cost and quality standards, leads a team of employees, and ensures that quality, sanitation, and cleaning standards are met or exceeded. The manager also oversees staffing and employee development, monitors daily volume trends, and plans and executes café events and promotions.
Requirements
- Three to five years of upscale food service experience, including two years at the management level.
- Supervising, scheduling, training, management, and coaching skills.
- Knowledge of basic work-area operations and company and client policies and procedures.
- Operational knowledge of cash-handling procedures and food service equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification.
Responsibilities
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, train, and coach employees and entry-level managers.
- Plan, assign, and direct job duties.
- Participate in employee meetings, reviews, and development.
- Ensure compliance with proper sanitation and cleaning standards.
- Prepare and maintain a daily volume trend analysis report.
- Plan, market, and execute café special events and promotions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
