About The Position

AtlantiCare Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is seeking a Food Service Manager to coordinate the operations of the Food Service department. This role is crucial for promoting optimal patient care and providing exemplary customer service. The manager will be responsible for menu planning, staff management, and the development and evaluation of systems and processes to achieve department goals.

Requirements

  • Five or more years in a management capacity in a Food and Nutrition department or healthcare food service department required.
  • Completion of a state or local approved food safety course required.
  • Thorough knowledge of food products and service, operations, staffing, handling, storage and regulatory requirements required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Nutrition Sciences preferred or the equivalent through experience and/or specialized training.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, directing and evaluating of all phases of the department.
  • Managing budget and cost control, menu planning, quality food procurement, food preparation and service, administrative record keeping, maintaining high standards of nutritional care, quality improvement and quality control.
  • Leading trainings of Food Services personnel to ensure safety and sanitation procedures are being followed.
  • Scheduling Food Services personnel.
  • Calculating menus in accordance with diet order and nutritional needs of patients.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
