Requirements

  • SERV safe Manager certification
  • Work requires an Associate or Technical School degree or equivalent with 1-2 years applicable work experience in Kitchen/Food Service management.
  • Experience in purchasing methods and procedures including cost containment and inventory control.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and proficient computer skills.
  • Must be able to use commercial kitchen equipment and stepladder.

Responsibilities

  • Food ordering for Our House
  • Responsible for a budget and/or responsible for budget preparation and record keeping.
  • Health and Safety of Food Operations, including cleanliness of kitchen, dining room and food storage areas and equipment.
  • Ensure menu and meal compliance for ingredients, preparation, serving and storage
  • Supervision and training for all staff, clients and volunteers.
  • Establish and monitor procedures in sanitation for compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Quality assurance for prepared meals (taste, temperature, appearance, timeliness).
  • Inventory control, daily meal counts, and cash to Finance daily.
  • Preparation of main meals.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks as necessary.
  • Key Aspects of OASAS Nutrition: o Mandatory Meals: Facilities must offer three balanced meals daily to meet basic and recovery-specific nutritional needs. o Nutrient-Rich: Focus is on providing adequate nutrients and calories to support healing and recovery. o Integrated Care: Nutrition is a component of overall addiction treatment, alongside counseling, case management, and prevention.
